Fun weekend...

This is the big Labor Day weekend. I've decided that each day this weekend I am going to do something fun....

Saturday - were going to Multnomah Fall and than head up to The Vista House and than maybe hit Rooster Rock before or after.

Sunday - Were going to go to Sauvie's Island and were going to go pick some berries and just trot around.

Monday - Were going to the Zoo in the morning (to beat the people) and than that afternoon maybe we'll head over to Jamison Park on the way home.

Monday is Labor Day, it's for the American people to take a day off and hopefully appreciate what they do. I am going to take that day an appreciate being a Mommy, the best job ever.....

Weekend

* Sunday I went an seen a movie with two girls who mean the world to me...Stephanie and Kira. I don't get to see them as much as I would like to. They are my best friends in the whole world and I would do anything for them, but sometimes I don't think I'm as great of a friend as I should be. It's so difficult to come home from work, play outside with Brian, start cleaning, get dinner going AND chat on the phone or hook up with them after work with the kids. It gets kind of hard. I know I need to make more of an effort. We got together on Sunday for a movie and than we went home, too short of a visit together.

* Brian and I were outside playing yesterday and I was sitting on the porch reading my book. Brian runs up to me pulls my hand and says "come here Momma, Come here Momma" I look at him and say "What Buddy" he says "Come and play Cah Cah"...yes you heard correctly!! I look at hime and say "Play Cah Cah?" and he nods his head and says "Come on Momma". I get up and walk down to the front yard, I follow his lead. He points to the first set of dog poop and says "Theres Cah Cah" and than he points to the second set of poop and says "More Cah Cah"....YUCK, GROSS, NASTY!!!! I thought I was going to lose it. I looked at him and said "Thats nasty Brian, go play with your truck" I went and got a plastic bag and picked up the "OLD HARD POOP". I knwo he is a boy but geez, play Cah Cah....who does that?

ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease)

A few years back my dads best friend died of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). This year we have started a team, and will be walking in his honor/memory. My mom will be making t-shirts for all of us to wear.

If you would like to join our team and walk for a good cause, it doesn't cost anything, just go to the link above and join us for a fun day....good exercise too.

Thought for the day...

So one of my employees in my office brought me this saying today...

Handle every situation like a dog.
If you can't eat it or screw it....Piss on it and walk away!

I'll leave you to ponder!!!

Good Note and Bad Note

Good Stuff First...This morning Brian was yelling for me from upstairs "Momma, Momma" I ran to the stairs and said "Good Morning" and he said "Blankie, Mommy Blankie". I went upstairs to see what he was talking about. He points to my bed and says "See" and points to the comforter. I immediately smell finger nail polish...YES as you can see by the picture Mr. Moore decided he was going to paint his toe nails and finger nails like Mommy.

I took him downstairs to the bathroom and he points to his toes and says to me "Cute Momma"!!!....Priceless

Bad Stuff...Sunday evening at midnight my cousin Christina and her daughter Angelina were taken to the hospital due to their apartment catching on fire. Yesterday morning we get the call. Christina and Angelina are both on Ventilators and have burns. They are in the burn center at the hospital. Yesterday afternoon all the family congregated at the hospital to see them.

Christina has minor burns on her face and has some burns on her right hand, not sure yet on how bad they are. She is on the ventilator due to her asthma and they had her sedated, if she continues to do well they will release her today out of the burn center.

Angelina on the other hand is about 10 or 11 and is in bad shape. They have her in a medically induced coma. They have her whole face wrapped and her arms all wrapped and suspended in the air. 20% of her body is burned. Her lungs are not doing so well, at this point it's touch and go. We don't know much about Angelina at this point.

The apartment they were living in didn't have any smoke detectors and has had 4 fires in the last 2 months due to faulty wiring. Angelina was sleeping in the living room which is the same place the fire started. When they reached her she was on fire and was not breathing.

As you can imagine my family and I are in shambles and are pretty wrecked. We are a very tight family and yesterday we filled up the whole family waiting area at the hospital, we came from all over Oregon and California. We know the power of prayer and we know the power of love. Nothing will bring us down, we have to keep positive and keep praying....Please keep us in your prayers. Please pray that Angelina will make it and recover.

Brian & Mommy Day....

Saturday was Brian and Mommy Day....

In the morning he and I went to Grandma Charlotte's (Brian's Great Grandma) and had a wonderful time with her. We chatted and he played in the wheel chair....typical Brian. With my grandma having cancer it's important to have Brian see her more now than ever. When it was time to leave he didn't want to leave grandma. He loves her so. We missed Grandpa Tim, all Brian could say was "I see Papa Tim"....we'll catch him next time.

After we left my grandmas he and I went to Blue Lake.....He has a BLAST. What a great place to take kids. They have this amazing new water feature for the kids and he had the best time. I am so glad we went there instead of Jamison Park. We'll go there next time. This weekend I am thinking of taking Brian back to Blue Lake. It was a lot of fun. He was screaming, laughing, clapping his hands, jumping up and down. The boy had a ball. I loved seeing the biggest smile on his face :)

We stayed for about 30 minutes, we would have stayed longer but this little girl probably 6 or 7 kept spraying him in the face, he asked her nicely to stop and she wouldn't so he went and grabbed the nozzle, she grabbed his hand and jerked him off of it and than pushed him. Brian cried and cried. Usually he is my little bully...I so wanted to yell at this little girl but all Brian could say was "Momma Home". Too bad parents can't control their bratty kids sometimes. If that was Brian who did that he'd be in trouble. Her parents didn't even do anything.....

Besides that we had a great time and I loved seeing him enjoy himself. Such an amazing feeling and warms the heart to see your child have so much fun!!!!

Take your kids to Blue Lake....you won't be disappointed.

Fun Weekend

So tomorrow I am planning a fun day with Brian....

In the morning we are going to go visit Grandma Charlotte and Grandpa Tim at about 9.

Than were going to head to Jamison Fountain or Blue Lake. They both have these great new water features for kids ages 1 to 4. We all know how Brian loves the water.

Than I was thinking about going and picking up some ice cream and some lunch.

Brian and I love hanging out together so maybe this will be a great up lifter for me and help squash the last few weeks of me being in my funk.

I am looking forward to our fun day and spending quality time together. Heres to a great weekend!!
