Good Company!!

Kira and I went to the Toby Keith concert this last Saturday and had a great time :) I don't get to go out much so it's so nice to be able to go to something and take off the Mommy hat once in a while. It was a good concert and I had great company. It was so fun to be able to spend a few hours with good company and someone who means a lot to me. Can't wait to do it again!!

How smart is a two year old really????

Brian is pretty much your typical two year old. He is starting his temper, tantrums, attitude, every things mine, etc....YES he is my child :) But he is very smart and intelligent that it blows my mind on what this kid can do.

When we were on vacation last week, we were getting ready to go to the beach and he climbs in the front seat of Uncle Mikes car and he buckles himself in all by himself, he than proceeds to act like he is driving. I take photos and than he asks Uncle Mike for the keys, he gets the keys and puts the CORRECT key in the steering wheel and tries to turn the key...thank goodness it's s stick!!

Yesterday my brother Kenny, Brian's "Gunkle Mouse" was babysitting Brian and they were upstairs in what I now call our "Media Room", Brian sat in the computer chair and turns on the computer and than turns on the monitor, than puts his hand over the mouse and sighs while he is waiting for it to load.

Once he was done with the computer he found a pair of head phones and put them on, than he walked up to the entertainment center opened up the glass where the stereo was and inserted the plug for the headphones into the headphone plug.

How do they know these things....

Terrible Two's

I thought I was going to get really lucky and breeze right on through the terrible two stage everyone warns you about. I mean why wouldn't I be so lucky? I breezed through everything else with B.

He's only been 2 for a month and a half so did I speak to soon? Did I do something so horrible in the past month and a half?

B has ran smack into the terrible twos and he has shook it's hand and made a deal to make my life miserable!!!!

It started when we were at the beach. At least three times when we were there he would scream and cry and through a fit. He even made me cry one of the nights we were there. I was ready to pack our bags and head my butt home. I was literally ready to give up. That was the first time in his whole short two years of life that he had ever acted like that.

Tuesday night we meet up with Stephanie and Maddie for dinner at Mongolian Grill. He was in a super good mood he and I were jamming to music in the car, he had his cool sunglasses on everything was going great. We get to the restaurant I get my plate while Stephanie stays with the kids and when I return, he has started in on his little attitude. It continues to sky rocket. Crying hysterically, being a brat, yelling...I'm sure you can picture it now. I decide to take him outside cause I was going to swat his butt and make him understand this wasn't ok.....unfortunately there were people outside that scratched that idea. We get back in the restaurant and everything seems ok, and than he starts in one more time. Stephanie went and took him to get M&M's and that cured it for about 5 minutes. I was so frustrated at this point in the little BRAT he was being. I got about half my plate of food down by the time we decided to leave.

You think it ends there don't you? Yeah that would have been great if it really happened that way. I put him in his car seat Stephanie and I are chatting be fore we take off and than the stupid cashier runs out and says she didn't charge us enough, and wants more money. Stephanie goes in side to argue while I stay with the kids. B asked for his apple juice and I hand it to him. He proceeds to undo the cap and pour the whole bottle of apple juice on the floor board of my vehicle.....I am LIVID!!!! I look at him and tell him you're lucky you're buckled in your car seat, you wait until we get home. He smiles and says "OK". When we got home I swatted his butt right there in the street, not a pretty picture.

I don't like to swat his butt or flick his fingers, I think it's over rated and doesn't necessarily seem to get through to them at such a young age. Yes they know they are in trouble but I don't think they quite get it yet. Its not a regular occurrence that Brian gets a swat on the butt, but now that he has been acting the way he has on a daily basis it seems it may become that. I don't want Brian to ever grab his butt and cover it because he knows hes in trouble and scared to get a swat.....I will not be that type of parent. I am going to try time outs!!!

I hope this stage doesn't last long....I don't know if I have the patients or the strength to push on. It's so tough to try and be the stability for yourself as a single parent and feel you have nothing to lean on or have your back. It's such a difficult thing.

Family Beach Trip

Here are some of the pictures from our week long beach trip. We all had such an amazing time. I wish it didn't have to end. I love my family so much and enjoy their company just as much, wish we could do these trips more often.

Beach Trip

I am so sad to say our week long beach trip has officially ended. It's Monday and I am back at work plugging along. How depressing...

We had such a great time at Devils Lake in Lincoln City with all our family. It was relaxing for the most part and a lot of fun. I didn't get to do a lot of what I wanted to do, such as the Aquarium, Devil's Punch Bowl, Otter Rock, etc....but Brian and I will do that in August before summer ends.

We spent a lot of our time just hanging out at the lake house and enjoyed watching the guys tube in the boat and watch Brian play. We spent some time at the beach as well and drove to Newport a few times. It was a pretty uneventful week, but very enjoyable.

In the week we were gone I swear he's grown like 2 feet...(yes over exaggeration), and he has probably tripled his vocabulary. He is speaking so well from hanging out with all the older kids, it's amazing how much they pick up. He is starting to talk in complete sentences and he is picking things up so quickly.

We adults spent most of our nights playing Uno, Skip-Bo or dice. It wouldn't be a family vacation if these games weren't involved. They get pretty nasty and very competitive. None of us want to end up losers!!!

We got home on Friday and settled in and tried to calm down. Brian and I are still not on our schedule of 9pm bed time and 6am wake-up time. That's a challenge right now for the both of us.

I can't wait for next years trip....I'll post pictures soon.

Kenny Chesney

This weekend some of the girls in my family and I drove up to Seattle for the Kenny Chesney "07" Flip Flop Summer Tour. What a concert it was. I can't remember when the last time I had that much fun. My Aunt Connie, my Aunt Jenny, my Cousin Sarah, my Mom and myself left Portland at 9:30am. We had a great time enjoying the drive up there. We reach Seattle at about noon. This is when our trip becomes EVENTFUL to say the least.

We get down by Qwest Field and we are stopped at the train tracks, the lights are flashing and you hear the noise of the dinging of the tracks indicating a train would or will be coming but the track barriers didn't come down. We are stopped for about 3 minutes, and still no train. So my Aunt Jenny who is driving, decides to put the peddle to the metal and she guns it and we go flying across the train tracks with lights flashing and all. We are all laughing so hard, trying to think about what the hell just happened.

So we are driving around trying to find a parking garage that is decent pricing. We find one and have to turn around. I am sitting in the way back of my Aunt Jenny's SUV, we stop at a red light and she has her blinker on to turn right, I notice it's a one way street. I am trying to let all of them know, but they all keep telling me to "shut up", I don't get the chance to tell them that we are going to be headed down a one way street with three lanes of traffic headed towards us....at this point the light turns green and my Aunt Jenny turns RIGHT, she starts yelling "Oh my God" at this point I am cracking up laughing, trying to speak but I can't I'm laughing so hard. Everyone is yelling and laughing and telling her to make a "U" turn before the cars that were stopped at the red light two light ahead of us, but she didn't turn around, she keeps going passing a block where she can turn....she goes through another light and than the cars start coming so she decides to turn right again before we have a head on collision, we are all panicking and screaming and I am still laughing. Finally we are off that street and going the CORRECT way, everyone at this point is laughing so hard we can't even stand it....I tried telling them :)

We get into the concert after waiting in line for an hour, and we find our seats. About 2 hours into it we are having the greatest time. My Cousin Sarah at this point has already had 3 beers at $8.25 a pop. Her and I and My Aunt Connie decide to stretch our legs and head on down to the Main Level. Were walking out and Sarah says watch this, in front of us there is a girl and a guy holding hands, Sarah speeds up a bit and Aunt Connie and I are watching her wondering what the hell is she going to do....Sarah reaches over and grabs this guys butt....as soon as she grabs his butt she runs. My Aunt Connie and I are laughing hysterically trying to figure out if what we saw was really true. YES Folks it was really true. Not only did she do this little stunt once, she did it three times.

Those were only a few of the highlights of our trip on Saturday. If I was to tell you all of it, it would take me all day. The concert was amazing and such great music. I swear I thought I was going to have no voice the next day. I absolutely loved the concert, 5 acts and all were great.

What a great time I had with my family. I don't get out much and to take the "Mommy" cap off for the day was such a blast. I can't wait for our next girls all day event. It was truly a day I will remember for a VERY long time.

Thanks Ladies for the awesome adventure...even though it took us 45 minutes to get out of Seattle. YES we got lost yet again......What a way to end our trip before we headed home back to reality :)

Fourth Of July

My Fourth Of July this year was very relaxing. This is my favorite holiday to the low keyness of it all and the simple fact that you can just relax really enjoy yourself and be so thankful that we live in the great country that we do. We usually go down to Marine Drive and watch the Fort Vancouver Fireworks show, but I decided to pass this year and let Brian just enjoy the little fireworks at home.

Brian had such a great time. He played in his pool all day and got sunburned on his lower back due to his swim trucks falling down and having a "plumber's behind". He wore himself out so much he took a 3 hour nap with me (well needed)! When he woke up we played outside some more and I couldn't keep him away from his pool :) That evening we set off the fireworks for him and he had a ball. It was a great and relaxing Fourth Of July.

Taylor Swift

If any of you listen to Country Music you all know how cute Taylor Swift is. A 17 year old blond with blue eyes.....and my son's TV girl friend.

We woke up this morning and for once he wasn't saying "Mommy, Moe" (Doodlebops), he was saying "Mommy, song". So I turned on CMT and he was dancing and clapping as he always does. Having a ball of a time.
Taylor Swift came on the screen and he stopped in his tracks, turned around and stood at the TV, and was quiet and motionless. During the whole 3 minutes Brian was in a trance. He stared at her and didn't care what was around him.
When the song was over he clapped and said "Nice, Nice", I asked him if she was his girl friend and he nodded and said "Yeath" (Yes).

Looks like my little boy has his first crush!!!

First Blog!!

My friend Adrianna started her Blog on here and I have been struggling with setting up my website, so I thought why not try this out. Plus she's so crafty, creative and savvy, so why not follow her lead. I can post pictures, blogs and stay in touch with my friends and family. I can give everyone updates and still have fun creating my Blog page without all the hassle :)

I am so excited to be able to post this blog and be able to not have just Myspace to keep in touch with my friends and family. Not everyone uses Myspace and to be honest....it's becoming quite old and I feel I can't give as much to Brian on it as I would like.

I wanted something to where I can give updates on our family vacations and fun weekends Brian and I have. I feel and hope this is a place I can do that at. I am so excited.

Hope everyone checks back in every week for my weekly posts!!!
